Nice chunky slabs you got there, Randy. And welcome to the boro, I didn't know you moved! Have you already located all the JPP Crappie? This time of year don't they head shallow again similar to their Spring pattern?

The fish I have been catching have been deeper. Last week they were in 25 FOW. A few weeks ago we were catching them in 12-15.

Thanks Jimmy.....I haven't fished JPP since moving. Crappie.....as a general rule.......will move back into shallow water in the fall. You can find them deep but many times they will be in as little as 2-4 feet of water. They are looking for the food. At Pickwick and Nickajack I find them in water that is 20-27 feet deep but they may only be suspended a few feet down. Last week I watched them hit a Slab Magnet in about 2 feet of water as I retrieved it over the top of a vertical ledge....that was pretty neat to see. Going to hit Nickajack up quite a bit next few weeks depending on weather.

Caught the rest with a Yamaga Blanks Blue Current 6' 10' Jig Head Special UL rod spooled with SOS 2# test line with a Midnight Blue Slab Magnet on a 1/32 ounce Double Cross Jig Head....also twitched along the bottom and most would hit it as it started up the ledge. The bass came on the Slab Magnet....a nice little fight with the 2# test. Smallest crappie were 12 inches with some close to the 14 inch mark.....big shouldered fish. All fish given away. Not setup in the new house yet to clean fish. Love Nickajack...life is good!
