Default The Sluice Effect

How does the sluice running effect the bite (or does) it?

The way I fish the Caney, floating the Trout Magnet, the sluice creates a natural like current and it helps me.
Whether I am using spinning reel or my fly rod,I use T M's.However I do use Mini's on fly rod and I also want the flow for a good drift.

I was out today. One generator and the sluice. Not a bite nor a nibble. Used spinners, TMs, and jerk baits. I've heard it both ways regarding the effect of the sluice. Was just wondering what other's experience was.

Default Sluice and Generator

I have found this to be one of the worst time. Too much turbulence/very little control. You can catch on spoons but tough. The sluice adds 2000 more cfs over single generation. A single generator is much better or simply the sluice. Together little dicey.

This year has been epic in numbers. Few monsters but most early in the year. Still a helluva good time.

I usually fish the Caney when there is just sluicing.

I was having some great outings in the Caney on falling and low water with no 250 cfs orifice flow. Since they started sluicing my catch rate went way down. Down enough that I stopped going. Some people love it but for whatever reason I couldn't find any luck.

Typically the 250 cfs release has stopped way before now. I'm surprised they're still doing it. It's usually over by late Summer.
