Default Old Hickory 5-10-2018 PB Smallmouth

Put in at Avondale today around 4:30PM... headed down the lake, fished in Bluegrass a little bit, couldn't find anything, did see a massive school of shad in about 2 feet of water in the very back of a cove, decided to head back and take a different approach than what I have been fishing. Fished the bluff walls from the Bluegrass area to around Saundersville boat ramp, caught a couple small largemouth, big catfish, and 2 smallmouth, I thought the first smallmouth was nice... but then I hooked into this thing, thought it was a drum at first. I grew up catching creek smallmouth and still do some wading in the summer but I could not believe the size of this thing... scale said 5 and a half, measured 22".

The fish were right up on the wall, no more than 10 feet deep. I fish as close as I can to the walls and just kind've work the bait down each shelf and let it drop.. Ned Rig, I was using a 4" Senko and 6" Pintail worms today Green Pumpkin and Junebug color...
