12lb flouro on a baitcaster with a 6 ft rod and a weighted 3/0 or 4/0 hook depending on bait size
I vary my retrieve... short jerks then pause, or swim it lazily (or quickly), bring it up high and then let it drop...
I go with the one which produces the first fish, usually
