Default Mangrove Snapper Spawn

Got in on the Mangrove spawn last Friday PM in Marathon, it was pretty wild. They popped up around 9:30 and you could literally see them swimming around out from the boat. This will go on a few more weeks, it starts around early July and goes on for around 3 weeks or so. Fish averaged 2-4 lbs, more around 2 than 4 but some 4's were mixed in. Was a blast. It was frustrating to see the generation projections for the Caney last week when I was off so I headed on down to the Keys and caught them up. This time of year in the Keys nights are the way to go, I fished Friday AM til 1PM and it was extremely hot and humid...it is super tough during the day and the fishing was a lot better at night too.
