This is one of my favorite times of year for fishing at Tims Ford. It is too hot to live bait fish in the daytime (and I don't like night fishing), plus the fish schools are really spread out and not keying off of points necessarily. The fish seem to bite all day long!

Once the line releases from the clip, the battle is just you and the fish. The only weight on the line is the Snap Weight and when it is removed you still have 50 more feet to reel in before you land the fish! The rods are 7' medium heavy Ugly Stik Striper rods and the reels are 20 Series Okuma Convectors. Main line is 40 pound Power Pro Slick 8 braid and leaders are 30 pound Seaguar Blue Label Fluorocarbon. It makes for a really enjoyable rod, reel, and line combination.

Oh, by the way, the boat continues moving at 2.5 MPH while you land the fish!
