Just mentioning Shelby Park makes me smile. I grew up in east Nashville and I used to walk to the lake as a kid and fish all the time. I fished for catfish with either hotdogs or dried dog food. I used to love fishing off the island. I would tease the geese and they would chase me all around that lake.
