Minnow minnow minnow if you can get some. Remember sauger and walleye are hanging out on the bottom. I would use 6-8lb test line nothing to heavy.
1. Minnow with a 1/4 oz split shot about one foot from hook (I like a small circle hook) or whatever size weight that hovers the bottom.
2. 1/4 oz crappie style jig hooked through the lips of a Minnow bouncing off the bottom.
3. A simple three way swivel rig with minnow.
4. If you don't have minnows use a 1/4 oz jig with white or chartreuse color 3 inch grub.
5. Try trolling a Wally driver style bait.
6. Blade bait and spoons can sometimes be effective. Good luck!
