Back before i got my boat, i would fish below old hickory dam on the generator side. I would toss bobby garlands on 1/8oz jigs right on the current seam and just twitch it along the current till it swung around back to the bank and did very very well this time of year. Not alot of fish, but they were all big whitebass. Thick and chunky. Always picked up a few slob smallies too. Fish for an hour or 2 ya might catch a dozen or so but they were quality. I tried it in the boat last year but just couldnt get the same results. The action of the jig just didnt act the same in the boat.
That might help ya if your anticipating the run down at cheatham. Watch the shoreline for the movement of the water and hit the key areas and that should help ya find the fish.
