Any thoughts on the differences in reliability of these two? I currently get 37-38 MPH top speed on the 70hp. How much more could I expect from the 90hp?

Thanks in advance!

What's max rated HP for the boat? I had a 150 2-stroke yam a couple boats ago. Light boat would go 51mph. I almost NEVER went more than 30. Why run the RPMs up to max and put that much wear on the gear?

Nice to have the HP for efficient running, hole shot/torque, but speed? 90hp is not going to set your hair on fire; but it's a great engine.

One can never have too much money, too much fun, or too much horsepower.
