Woody - My son and I hit the water at daybreak in the Cages Bend area. We ran to a long hard bottom point and started with spinner baits and an Excalibur Swimmin' image moving up and down the length of the point. The shad were all over the point and as the sun began to hit the water the bass just came in waves and crushed them all morning long. We caught over 30, all 1.5 - 2.5lb chunks with a few keeper length fish mixed in. All appeared to be males gorging on the shad in preparation to move into bedding areas. A great morning for sure but rather confusing on locating the bigger females. At 64 degree water you would think they would be ready to pop.
