Default Old Hickory Crappie 4/13/14

Took my normal fishing buddy and his son on a "guided" trip from 7:30-11:00. Caught 8 the first 2 hours in 30 fow spider rigging of the back then the wind got too rough and moved shallow. Spider rigged in 6-10 fow with no takers. Moved out to 12 fow and caught 2 more. Ended up keeping 6. The biggest 14.5" and none under 11". Decided to call it a day and headed in.

It was as rough as I'd ever seen it. On the way in a bass fisherman flagged us down. His boat wouldn't start and he was blown up into some rocks. Towed him to the boat ramp. Not much he could have done (don't make many trolling motors that can battle 20 mph winds) but it was a good reminder to be prepared while you are out there.

Question for the group. Is it still considered spider rigging if you set it up in the back? Or would it just be trolling? I fish it the same way just easier off the back in deep water.
