Thanks Nomad!
This is my first spring with a boat down here. Ive got my summer, fall and maybe winter locations figured out pretty much, but i seemed to have mis-placed fish from late winter to spawning grounds. i just found these fish this weekend after a few short trips of getting nothing/seeing nothing. we did get some fish and im thrilled with that but it still wasnt "great". i was kinda expecting larger numbers of fish schooled up holding off points and such close to spawning grounds.
Its a toss up of whats worse: not being able to locate fish or locating them yet not getting bit...trip after trip.
about 2 months ago i found a few schools of fish, holding off a channel ledge, some minor brush close by, nothing major....fished, nothing...changed baits, live, artificial...nothing. dropped down the aqua view camera...sure enough....crappies with some other fish mixed in but mainly crappies....i dropped minnows, power bait, jigs, spikes, ect...for 3 seperate trips on those fish and couldnt get a sniff! I even dug deep into the bag of tricks and dusted off the dipsy divers and teeny tiny crankbaits...still nothing! so i gave them fish the ole italian salute and motored off into the sunset cussing them under my breath. i can honestly say, i was legitamately pi$$ed off at those fish those few trips. LOL...not a proud moment for me...holding a grudge against fish!
