That is true but I always look for a single tooth patch on a white bass...the hybrid has a double tooth patch. To me sometimes the stripes can be hard to tell if they go to tail or not....but I have always been able to tell by the tooth patch. When I am white bass fishing at Pickwick and am keeping fish the last thing I do before putting the fish in the basket is check the tooth patch.
