The anise balls are just an artificial salmon egg with the anise scent. They are made of soft plastic/rubber. Some are more durable than others. I bought mine from various tackle shops in michigan, but im pretty sure Cabelas carries them. If not, you can do a google search for anise artificial salmon eggs. I attached a pic of a brand ive used in the past.
