Try it nomad. The colder it gets the more I drag it slowly only hopping it to get over cover that it may run into. Also the colder the less you move the rod tip when dragging.

I am always open to finding new ways to catch fish and am constantly experimenting...most of the time my ideas don't work out but they sure sound and look good the night before a fishing trip! My problem is, I get discouraged to easily and quickly if a certain lure isn't working and I end up reaching for my 2 old faithfuls, Senkos and jigs.
