Water temps are in the 70's on old hick, so that plays a part. Also, shad fry are schooling up heavily on the surface. Fish seem to be in an early fall pattern, but the bait is still small. Now would be a good time to break out the fly rods and throw some small minnow-imitating flies. A light-colored TM would probably work, too, I just prefer the fly rod.
