For reels, pfluegar president is built tough but are kind of heavy. The lighter diawa exceller might be just outside your price range, but is money well spent IMO. Which ever spinning reel you get, make sure it is large enough to hold 100-150 yds of 6 lb test. Anything smaller will cause tangling issues. Larger is just extra weight.

Good deal. Thanks for the recommendations. As for reels I'm just going to my two new Garcias. I'm just looking for lighter rods.
