Water temp 45 degrees skipjack can be caught but tough. Six caught today. Went about 12 miles downriver and fished every spot I knew with no success. No birds, no bait activity etc. Needs to warm up some for the rockfishing to get right. Thats the bad news . The good news is I didn't break anything , my motor ran fine and my rockfish bait system worked great.

Glad you did not break anything also.....I did not fare as well. Made a cast with my new custom made crappie rod....that I was in love with......hit the tip on a boulder. Thought all was well until I cast and the lure just kept going. I looked and the ceramic insert had shattered. It was completely my fault. I will call and get a new tip top guide from the guy that made it......still sick about it though.
