During generation you can catch just about anything that swims in that river below the dam from the steps. You can venture out onto the rocks downstream a bit as well if you want. I'd strongly recommend that you do not do that if it has rained and the rocks are wet. One fall one those rocks and that may be your last fishing trip. On the other bank, you can walk out there on NO generation (don't ever hang around there once the water starts pumping, you'll have no way to get back to your vehicle other than to swim) and fish around the waterfalls. I've caught some nice sized LM bass and white bass there, people catch walleye and trout that way as well. Your best bet is to wade though, on low water.
