Got up this morning at 3:00 AM to get to the lake by sunup. It took the fish a little while to turn on. The fishing was a little tough. Only got 10 today. I left at 10:45 AM. Really wanted to stay and try to get my limit. There is no doubt that they would have turned back on before dark. Am thinking about not getting up so early and maybe start arriving by noon or one o'clock then staying until dark. I am only a year older than this time last year but just can't seem to hang all day there anymore. The two fish that are singles are 12 inch fish. The rest were all 11 inches. Used a Bison color Trout Magnet to catch all fish. When the bite slowed down switched out the 1/64 head and put the Trout Magnet body on the 1/25 tungsten head. They had moved deeper and that is how I caught my last 4 fish. The water is very clear...surface temp is 62 degrees....according to several bass boats that came by. The crappie bite should get better, and bigger fish as the water cools...I'm hoping anyway.
