It all depends on the generation schedule so you MUST check that beforehand. That calm shallow river turns into deep, fast moving, and dangerous during generation. I highly recommend you don't go anywhere near Happy Hollow if you're coming on a weekend, you will be elbow to elbow with other fishermen and crowds of people with music blasting, kids throwing stuff in the water, making all sorts of noise, and swarms of canoes. Go to Betty's Island, it doesn't get as much pressure. The Kirby Road access point is even more remote but it's about a 20 minute longer drive.

Small rooster tails and trout magnets are the way to go, you'll catch trout all day.
