Nice idea... Here is another trick you can use with them. If you head out for a few hours then decide to call it a day and head for the house. Don't throw away that open hand warmer it has a lot more life in it. Put the open warmer in a small freezer bag and seal it up. A chemical reaction with air causes the heat so once its in the bag and closed they will stop after the air in the bag is gone. Open it back up next time you want to use it and it will heat back up.
