These stripers were acting different. They were keyed in on tiny one inch long shad. They really didn't want to hit an individual lure. The only thing that seemed to work was to throw the Gizz 4 crankbait right on top of where they were feeding and just to a twitch-twitch-pause retreive to imitate an injured shad. We did find one school of stripers that were really busting bigger shad on the surface and was able to get one on a Smack Jack top water bait. Yes it gets crazy. No side arm casts allowed. I got a lure upside the head one night. Thanks to a toboggan, I didn't get any hooks in me. Here's a picture on my buddy with two he caught at the same time.
