Caney Fork

Anyone wading the Caney tomorrow? Thinking about hitting it low until the water hits and then go up top after the cut the generator off.

I wish I was.
Spent last weekend camping at LBL and the wife thought it would be better if I stayed home this weekend. :)

Got some new flies I am dying to try out there.

Good luck !

Father in law and I will be in our yaks around the pond. We're heading out before the gens kick on though. Can't miss the UT game.

Had a great day on the Caney!!! Not sure how many I caught but it was a bunch, nothing big but a lot of fun. I caught all on them on the TM. I got to fish with tcintn again today. I had to get back home and I left and he was still fishing. Later in the evening I got the dreaded phone call....he told me the big ones turned on after I left........ Oh well there is always next time.........

Sounds like a great day, Roy.

It was a little slower than it has been in the pond but ended up catching 26 in 3 hours. Most were smaller but did manage one Rainbow that went 18" on the hawg trough. Brooks are really starting to get pretty too.

What colors are you guys having luck with during daylight hours up there lately?

White, black or bison.

Get you some chartreuse jig heads from Trout Magnet, then use white for the browns and pink for rainbows.
If you are going to use darker colors use them primarily in slow moving water.
This is what I do and I catch large numbers and lately some big trout.
I will say that yesterday before leaving I decided to try chartreuse body on chartreuse jig head and I caught some nice size Browns.
Light colors in fast water, dark in slow.

Thanks, those are the colors I primarily use in fast and slow water. Just making sure I wasn't missing anything color wise. Will hit the Obey in a week and a half and hopefully get into some.

I used to fish there a lot. It is just now starting to get good in my opinion. Now through winter is a great time to fish that river.

What Ed said. The chart. head is really effective. I was using it on a pink body. Chart head and chart body is really good also.
