Fished Pickwick Lake and Kentucky lake today. Above the dam I caught a few Smallies all around the 10 inch mark. Caught some large mouth but they were mostly 8 inches...but they were fat guys. Went below dam and caught a nice large mouth.....a little over 15 inches. All fish were caught on a Millie color Trout Magnet using 2# SOS line. The Smallies were a lot of fun and it took a while to get the large mouth in as he was digging and just had to play him out. Caught a drum and a few Gills. Felt good to get my drag pulled again. Well it is obviously September 4th 2014.....sorry about that.

Glad you got into some after you are settled in now. Is your new place closer to your main fishing spots?

The water clarity looks great from the pics.

Thanks....Yeah the water was pretty clear. Out in the middle of the river it was punishing to watch a massive school of stripers...and whites mixed in......go on a feeding frenzy boiling the water for a good 5 minutes and all I could do was watch.....wasn't a single boat anywhere either. In another 3 weeks Pickwick should be on fire. Headed to the Little Red River Saturday with browntrout to fish for trout.....quite excited about that trip. I am 18 miles closer to Center Hill and Nickajack.....also am only 42 miles from JPP Dam now. But am 18 miles farther from Pickwick and Laurel Hill. But living here will work out better for me. Need to find some good spots on JPP for fishing from kayak.

Regards
