Tims Ford 7/11-7/12
 

Spent the weekend camping out at Tims Ford. Got a late start Friday on the water with only enough time to gather about a dozen 'gills for bait. Dragged them around till 1am without a bite, then gave it up for some sleep. Saturday night, got out about the same time, this time got the first bite about 15 minutes in, missed it. Over the next 30 minutes I had 3 more bites on the 'gills and missed those three too. By then I had practiced using most of the expletives I knew. Shell shocked, stunned and in dis-belief, I did manage to bring the last two bites in, allowing me to sleep last night! Not particularly outstanding fish, but I was sure happy to see them.

Nice ones, what size gills do you prefer?

Travis, preferred size would be 4-6". Big enough to put up a little commotion. I have used gills big enough to eat with success, and usually don't keep the real small ones, say under 3".
