Fishing w/jkfishing
Fished with new friends, Jkfishing and younger brother, yesterday, 6/21/14. We started at daylight hoping the "jumps" would happen. Was not to be and at about 6:30 we targeted crappie. Fished some of the bamboo structure and ended up with 16 really nice crappie. We could see Anderson Recreation area. We fished about 20 feet deep as the big crappie are in the summer pattern. We quit at about 10:00. Fished and caught on minnows and sliders.
Had a good time fishing with good young fishermen. They also caught LM bass and yellow bass. Will put pic from my iPhone. |

Hey John, how tall is the bamboo u put out and how many stalks u put per bundle?, last how deep u place the atractors? thanks in advance!
|
No hard and fast rule. If I remember correctly it was about 20 stalks per bucket. About 12 feet high. We fished in 20+ feet this day. I put these around known structure I knew held fish in previous years. I like depths of 12 to 18 usually. On the edge of channel.
Crappie. Com has a forum about structure and that is where I got all my info. Lots of good reading. Bamboo last awhile and does not hang up to easily. Did I give you TMI? I also ease out around some of the TWRA structure. |
Thanks for the info John, I will check the crappie.com site too, very nice mess of fish btw!!
