Fishing on Friday
Anyone think that with the weather coming through Friday afternoon will be worth fishing? It looks like the weather will be over by 3.
|
With the increase in water temperatures this week, it hard to say how this front may affect fishing. It may slow down fishing in some areas, but I think some parts of the lake will still be very good. I'll be wading some where tomorrow afternoon.

Up north here, it's supposed to be moved out by 9am. When I was younger, I loved to fish right after a storm. I was stupid and would sit in my car while what they now call "severe thunderstorms" would roll through and as soon as I couldn't hear the thunder anymore, get out and start fishing. More often than not, it would be a good bite directly after.

I think I might drag the boat to the lake tomorrow and see if I can get on some crappie, I will be fishing where I was at the other night first to see if it produces like the other night. I don't see the water temps dropping all that much.
|
If you get out let us know water clarity/conditions Juice. I may try to get out after work today.

Spring rains = fresh water (sometimes even warmer too) and food washed in. Since the temps aren't dropping a bunch fast I'd go.
Good luck! |
I will not be able to go till around 4:30. I left the boat at home so I could check the water conditions out on the way in to the office. I am going to go home around lunch and hook up to it then head out after work.

Fish from the bank today go out in the boat tomorrow like me................woody

I should mention, since Woody posted it also, I was always on the bank after those storms.
I agree with TravisC also, and would add in the heat of the summer a good rain can offer cooler, and more oxygenated, water. |

One of the things I loved about fishing after a big storm was the calm, dark water. The winds would die down and the dark clouds still covered up the sun. Many times, when getting a good storm in the middle of summer, I would tie on a topwater bait while waiting it out and start making noise on the water as soon as the storm was done. |
its almost eerily calm...ya go from high winds, hard pounding rain to cloudy but dead calm winds....kinda spooky, even from the bank! way worse in a boat though.....man you see some nasty, nasty storms from the water.
Im wanting to get out tomorrow for anything thats gonna bite what ive got in the boat, crappie being #1 then i will just start chasing whatever is on the screen i guess. im hoping i can find some clear-ish water atleast. |
You ever get the buzzing sound from your rod tip, the higher you hold it, the louder the buzz. Sometimes you even see a little blue spark in the last eye! I've seen that and the arc in the line probably more than I should have.

Good luck tomorrow TNB! I'm either going to FtC, the Harpeth or the Red River.
MN - Lightning struck so close to me once my ears rang for 15 minutes, I got a headache, and I jumped high enough off the ground to turn in mid-air and take off towards the car. That was in 95 and I don't stay out too long anymore :D |
