Jpp 3/14/14
Gonna hit JPP again this morning about 9:00 AM.
We're going to try towing bobbers, long lining jigs and spider rigging all at the same time! Should be an interesting day.... I'll post a report later today. Probably not many pictures since everybody on this forum knows what a crappie looks like. Even SAMBOLIE. Well, maybe not. I took him fishing last year and showed him what they are and what they look like.....but he probably done forgot. |
I'll be hitting JPP as well at 9am. I'm heading out of Jefferson Springs. Good luck!
|
Good luck Merv. Try to save at least 5-10 Crappie for me since I'm going out early tomorrow hoping to get a few meals worth :D
Making several double and triple Crappie rigs tonight. I'll rig them with different color curly tails, Crappie magnets, and other differences to find what works best. I'll have loop knots tied on the end of my rods and loop knots at the top of these Crappie rigs for easy switching similar to switching flyrod leaders for different species/water. |
I am going to hit the same spot wading this afternoon. Try to save a few big yellows and crappie for me.:D
|
Good luck guys, I will be on the water tomorrow for some crappie. Do the Multiple lure rigs work for anyone?

There is info all over the internet about making them. My idea is a hybrid of several I've seen and I'm sure it will work as long as I can find Crappie and they happen to be hungry. |

I assume you will be casting them like the sabiki rig? |

I managed to catch a few on the bison crappie magnet but got tired of the wind really quick and got out of there after just a couple of hours. Lake was 55 degrees
|
Went from 630-1230 this morning. Boated 32 this morning with 8 keepers. Wind literally blew us aground. That was a mess.
|
5mph winds tomorrow, perfect for us kayak fishermen! I hope I can find them. I'm all rigged up now and ready to go. Double rigs with 1/16oz jigheads and either white or pumpkin/chartreuse curly tails. Also my ultralight rigged with a TM jighead and a CM body for a bit more casting distance. Will size down to TM if needed.
Of course a rod with a crankbait and one with a spinnerbait just in case I'm tempted to go after a few green fish! |
I fished Lamar hill today for a few hours. I managed a longest sunfish and two 5 inch bass. Wind felt like 20 mph.

That TM head with a Crappie Magnet body can make for an interesting lure. Big bluegill love that setup....keeps the little ones away. Good luck. Regards Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
