old hickory lake fishing report 3/8/2014

Boy what difference two hours makes in the morning, I like a froze my dingle berries off this morning going up the lake. The water temp was 39.4 at 7am and the fish weren't biting at all until it warmed up and still the bite was real slow. At the end of the day we only had six bluegills to show for it and only four were keepers. So till the next time out good luck and GOD BLESS..............WOODY

We put in at Misty Cove went to spring creek and fished all the way to the bridge over belotes ferry rd and caught several LM including one that I'd bet the farm would have went over 6 had my buddies line not broke. I lost one on a jerk bait due to a reel malfunction, but they really seemed to turn on after 1pm. All but that one were taken on a Pig/Jig. All in all a damn good day.

Oh and the water in that area hovered in the low 50's most of the day.

I saw a guy in a kayak catch a 33 pound Rockfish early this morning at the steam plant. He used my boga grip to weigh the fish.
