Finished Rig/Running Motor

Picked up my outboard from TK this past friday after getting an overhaul done on it and man oh man, that baby runs like a top! Great, great job on his part and he cleaned the 10 years of moss of the shroud of it too so now its nice and clean. The fiance and i got the itch and took it out yesterday afternoon to the launch at HWY 109 in Lebanon. I got her in all my Ice Fishing gear kicked the tires on the motor and we were both thrilled. SO glad to have some gas power now instead of the 30lb motor guide on the front that ive used all summer. I attached a few pics of my re-vamped rigged after getting it earlier this summer. Im thrilled with it! gotta do something with that trailer this spring though, the rust, red, green and white colors just arent working for me! HA.
So just a shout out to TK for a phenominal job on the old '61, i appreciate it!
So if anybody see's me out on the water, come on up and say hi!

If that is a 1961 it sure looks well preserved. Sort of like Merv.

Nice, did you park it in the living room?

It's too clean in there to be a garage. :D

Yeah its a 1961 18hp. I got it from a guy at church. he said it was sitting on an old boat in his yard for 10 years before he gave it to me, appearance wise, it was rough, all kinds of moss and spider webs and mud dobbers inside and out.
LOL, no its not the living room, thats actually my fiances house and since most women dont have a use for a garage, i figured that a boat would look rather nice in it!
boat was rough when we first got it too, that cheap green plastic grass type outdoor carpet covering the inside, rotting wood floors and the typicall olive green flat paint. Now its a little easier on the eyes and the other boats dont point thier bows at me and laugh! HA HA.

I'd be right proud for it to have my namesake on it!

U never know Merv. just make sure you give him permission so there's no copyright infraction.

I have heard that you are a chemist who can turn alcohol to urine.

If that boat could only dance all night then be fishing by day light it might deserve your name.;)

TNBronzeback, You did a great job on the rig. I have the same boat. I picked mine up last fall up in KY. Mine was set up for duck hunting. What size is your boat?

Thanks! ya know i wouldnt mind getting some rainbows to throw on the grill and from what ive read, the Caney is the place to get them! The only experience ive had on the caney is from way up top the dam from the road just looking, and fishing around the big rest stop on 40 for a few hours 1 day. I really dont know anything about it in regards to average depth and where to go and not to go in regards to navigation at various generation times and volumes.
i would certainly be interested in checking it out though.
