I caught several gills under a float using gold TM's with a gold head today.

Fun stuff on a light rod.

Nice fish! I'll be out in it Thursday and Friday with browntrout on the White River. Would have gone today but finishing getting gear ready.

You wading or boating?

They should be on the redds out there by now or at least darn close. Hopefully you'll catch it a little early where they are still aggressive but not locked on.

Travis we are using a guide and boating. browntrout will be chasing trophy browns and I will just be happy with a ton of 15 inch bows. Going to be cold in the a.m. but I think I have the proper clothing. Like you I enjoy fishing in winter...not as many folks to contend with and the action on many days can be as good as spring..as you know. I envy that bluegill hole you have there.

I believe so. There are several I have caught which looked like a cross of some sort.

One of these days, I hope to make it to the White or Little Red. You guys should have a really good trip. The time of year is really good for browns and the bows that trail the redds.

Do they have cutts in there too?

I love my little bluegill hole as well. :D

They do have cutts in there but my son and I did not get any last time. But we did get some cuttbows. I don't know what is the reason for crossing the two but they are nicely colored. I am running into more places that these bluegill cross show up. I am really looking forward to putting the kayak in Davey Crockett State Park Lake this spring. It has a ton of Gill, shell cracker cross.

I'd love to see some nice big cutts or cuttbow pics upon return Alpha.

There are a ton of lake like that where big ole dinner plates swim around. I hear and see Dale has them too but I can only try to figure out one species at a time there. Trout has had me stumped for years.

I was out on our boat today and I got one 15 inch largemouth on a rattle trap at priest this afternoon. Had to keep the trolling motor on 3 to stay in the same place.

I can give you the exact location for the right price...but don't tell Travis or he give away my hybrid and striper spots in retaliation ;)

It's amazing what those T M's will catch. Have caught quiet a few trout on the Caney the last three times I have been there.Hope to return Thursday.The color they are hitting under the float has been Gainer and then white.
Leaving Sunday for three days with the Sore Lip Guide,Lowell Myers, to fish the Little Red.
I am like Alphahawk,I am hoping those Browns are willing to be caught.I hear they are active.

Good luck and safe travels to you as well Ed. With you and Alpha out there at the same time the trout don't stand a chance. The trout would have better luck avoiding trawling nets.

Nomad- not from either and a good thing though. If I was I may have never made it down here. Too many trout up there for me to catch. Just instead a December baby who had rather it never get above 60 year round.

Travis...I sure you have addressed this before, but do you fish the TM under a float? Do you use the small pear shaped float or spring float.
