Plastic Navy Question
So my Ride 115 just will not track straight. I cannot see any issues with the keel that would cause the problem. The boat veers left drastically when "coasting". It's very frustrating and I have tolerated it up to this point but its about to wear out its welcome.

I have no idea what could be causing that other than something hanging off the edge dragging enough in the water to cause it to veer left. You bought it at HOOK1 right? Bring it by and I'm sure they'll look at it. Those guys are on top of it when it comes to taking care of the customer!

Yeah it's a hook1 boat. There's nothing dragging in the water. I had that same thought. It's a mystery and its really affecting my enjoyment level with the 115.

Gonna probably have to take it by and let them look at it. Has it been that way from day one?

Hull is probably twisted, assuming one side doesn't have a heavier load on that side (battery or seat not centered or...) .
If you said it was drifting left when paddling, I would think that it was your paddling technique (which is common cause as most people paddle stronger on their right (even lefties)). Whatever the cause, i am sure Hook1 will take care of it. |
Thanks for the input guys. One of these days I'll be able to get it back to Hook1.

I assume that you are not leaning to the left. I don't know about your boat but some boats will steer in the direction of the lean by design. ....Sorry , it maybe visa versa. lean left and the boat goes right.

Standing in shallow water see if you can take a measurement from the bow line (C/L) to the waterline (the longest distance) should be symmetrical.. Its a little irregular but try using a string and have a partner hold one end and check points on both side and see if you spot something that doesn't jive. Something to show the dealer. |
Have you tried taking your Ride 115 unloading it and standing behind it andpushing it from the rear to see what it does?
