Tried fishing the tailrace today but some folks were already in the good spot so went to another location below dam. For about one and a half hours killed them casting a Pop-R on a light action rod spooled with 4# test NanoFil and a 6# test fluorocarbon leader. The fish were not big but a lot of fun on that setup. As long as I either hit the wall or put it right at the end of the wall a bass would hit it as it fell.......or within a couple of twitches. Fished for another hour and a half and not a single hit. Will hit it again tomorrow. Water was clear and 84 degrees.

You're going to lose that Popr when big ole mister striper or hybrid decides he wants it.

Hey alpha, how do you like that nanofil? I just picked up some 8# today that I'm going to tie to 8# flouro. I know that there is some special knot recommended by berkley that you have to use. Uni to uni is normally my go to for adjoining my leaders.

LOL.....yeah I know. I have been fishing down there for years...and while they could be lurking around that wall at anytime, I have to start using the bigger stuff in the late afternoon when they are more likely to be there.

I just use the triple overhand knot to tie leaders on and I have never had any problems with it....I love the stuff. A lot of folks hate it. I have it in 1#....2#....3#....4#....6#.....12#......and 14# test. I have been using it since it was released. It will fray as you use it so you have to look at it after each trip and may have to cut off a couple of feet each time it starts to get bad. But when it gets what looks like tiny hairs on it that is no cause for concern. You can cast it a mile. agelessone uses it a lot also....and he will also tell you it has no resistance to abrasion....thus the need for a leader.

Thanks......all that water just stacked the bass in there. The stripers and whites though have not shown yet....in numbers anyway.

Send some of that mojo my way, Alpha! :)

I'll really need it on Saturday; my buddy's bass club is having another open tournament on...Cheatham Lake :( Methinks that we will stay out of the Harpeth this time though and try other locales.
