Here's my new Rod Rig for my bike - esp useful on the Stones River Greenway:) I love it - it cuts down my travel time from car to 'hopeful honey hole' from 11 mins to 2 mins. That 18 mins additional fishing time per trip!

If you could find a good stretch of shore line with no trees you might be able to troll or pull a buzz bait with that rig,;)

crappiecrazy 05-09-2013 07:26 AM

First time I have ever seen that rig. What a great idea for you! Would not work for me, I would be dead by the time I rode the bike up all the hills where I live.

Exercise and saving gas.... way to go. I used to do that all the time and even used the bike as a shuttle for the boat between Dam/Happy on the Caney (only 2 miles by road 5 miles by water).

Very innovative, and better than hoof'in it. Watch out for low hanging trees.

Reminds me of a night when I strapped a two piece rod and reel combo to the handlebars of my Harley and drove 40 miles, partially for the ride, partially for the fishing.
Sadly, when I got to the lake and assembled my rig, in the dark, and made my first cast, I then found out that the reel handle had vibrated off!
DAMN HARLEYS!!!!

Looks like all you need now is a bell on the handlebars and a playing card rubber banded to the front forks.

NICE! Did that all the time as a kid!

jimj3561 05-10-2013 08:03 AM

The bell is on order and I'll dig through some of my old football cards!
