rod for magnets
 

Wats a good afordabe rod in 9 FT RANGE. I can not afford much but like to find somthing decent

Wow...hard to find an inexpensive 9 foot rod. FishUSA has some decent ones....Berkley Trout Dough Series has an 8 foot. It will be hard twitching with a 9 foot rod. You could fish it under the float though.

Yeah...the 6' 6" inch rod they sell is pretty darn good.

well i was thinkin the longer rod would be good for casting a long ways
or do u not need to throw a long distance at the cany fork

Casting distance is important but with a 9 foot rod I think you get less distance casting with all things being equal. I have the TM 9 foot rod and it is a great rod.....but I can't cast a TM as far with it as the TM 6' 6" rod. But more importantly twitching with a nine foot rod would tire me out. You can do it but I find the 9 foot to be better for fishing it under the float.

i caint get both rods so maby a 6.6 or a 7ft would be better will this type rod fish the float well also

Oh yeah.....I use the float all the time on a 6 to 7 foot rod. My nephew has been catching all those crappie with me and he only uses the float method with the TM 6' 6" rod. He hasn't learned the twitch yet and prefers fishing the TM under a float.

I fish a 6'6" on the Caney and as long as the spool is full of line it will cast a TM plenty far enough. Line not being full on the reel will hamper as much if not more than the length of the rod.

I got the red & white casting rod & they are good rods, it had no problem bringing in a 40lb flathead I caught back in the fall.

I am sure that is a good rod but I think he is looking for a light or ultra light....the jig he is wanting to use is only 1/64 ounce.

yea im in the market for the ultra light rods i did buy the camo 9 footers from there tho they have served me well

A Fast action 5 wt fly rod blank, made with spinning reel seat and guides would be about perfect. No worries on the fast action as fast fly rod is actually more like a moderately fast spinning rod. If you build it yourself, you can get everything for $75-100 range.
