Don't know if you fellas are talkin stripes or stripers. We call a white bass a stripe in TN. When stripers were introduced they were called rockfish because striper is too close to stripe. Thats why there's no confusion now.http://fishingtn.com/images/icons/icon10.gif |
Old Sailor, glad you had an event free day. Snork was next door playing with his girlfriend, Sadie, and musta forgot about you for the day!

Glad you did not break anything also.....I did not fare as well. Made a cast with my new custom made crappie rod....that I was in love with......hit the tip on a boulder. Thought all was well until I cast and the lure just kept going. I looked and the ceramic insert had shattered. It was completely my fault. I will call and get a new tip top guide from the guy that made it......still sick about it though. Regards |
hey thanks sailor I thing we will head that way Saturday if ur down there we will b n a v bottom running a lil Johnson give us a shout good day n fish on brothers :D

OUCH Alphahawk! I know that had to hurt, breaking that rod tip. Are you sending the rod back or having it fixed locally?
My custom rod should be coming in from Kissel Kraft this week, hopefully. Really looking forward to it. But my boat is in the shop getting new steering cables installed. It's a 1990 Stratos w/150 Johnson. Cables are 23 years old. I almost ate a rock bluff wall running down the Stones river a few days ago. The steering had been getting progressively worse (ask jad2t, he had fun driving it last week, and he works out religiously) for the past few months and I hadn't thought too much about it. But when I went to make the curve and the steering didn't want to respond (about 40 MPH) and I missed the wall by about 6 ft, I decided it was time to get'r fixed. Hopefully I'll have it back before next weekend. I still have a canoe if I get the urge bad enough. Couldn't fish this weekend, Mama's on a women's retreat with her church ladies. She's probably looking to find a reason why she married me!! I'm sure she'll come to realize, it's because I make such pretty babies! |

Yes, she is what you would call "living proof".
