How is the trout fishing right now?

Very cool videos! The first one was AWESOME!! The fly in the arm was kinda funny!
I plan on catching a few monster browns this winter! |

The long period of low low water and small stuff fishing has been tough or at least this was the case last weekend. |
MNfisher and Travis,
We need to plan a day on the caney. Travis, you can use my spare yak, and we can float from the dam to happy. As long as they are running water, we should be able to snag a few trout of the size I like. I have a lot of days off in December, and that's the best time based on my previous few years. Chris |
Would love to do a yak trip on the Caney.
|
I am in!!
|
I'd be interested too but not in the yak... it would have to be in the polarkraft.
|
In the Winter it is trout and crappie for me. Of course I have to rely on browntrout for the boat to get on the Caney. Did the kayak one December and flipped........was not prepared then......it was a miserable walk out. I know now to have the dry bag full of clothes.
Regards |
I don't worry about extra clothes in the warmer months, but when the weather cools I prepare a dry bag that is always in my kayak. I haven't had to use it, but I will never leave it behind. Like the adage goes: better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Big trout opportunities - yes - but don't forget some of the biggest walleye of the year can be caught in late winter!
