Old hickory 11-3

Went out Saturday afternoon for a few hours. Thanks to Andy M's report from Friday, I decide to skip the creeks and fish the main channel. I launched out of Cairo ramp and went up river. It was the right choice. I found bass at my first spot and didn't move for the next few hours. I stopped counting at 20 bass and probably ended with 30 to 35 bass and a few big crappie. Most of the bass were 15 to 17 inches with the biggest at 18. Spinnerbaits and rattle traps were the best baits. All the fish were schooled on a shallow flat loaded with shad. Great fun fishing. I had to leave early as a thunderstorm was moving in.

We just finished up the last of that catfish this past weekend. I need to get out and fill the freezer again soon.
