Topwater Plug Pics!

5 Attachment(s)
Went striper fishing yesterday and they were not cooperating, so I put the rod down and started snapping pics of the plug that was being casted by my fishing partner. They turned out pretty cool. I hope you take the time to look at them and I also hope you enjoy them! It seems fisherman appreciate these photos a lot more than my nonfisherman friends. I love taking pics and also enjoy sharing them with others! So I hope you like!

Awesome photos man! What kind of camera are you shooting with?

MNfisher 07-15-2012 08:22 PM

Thank you!
Its a Nikon D90. I shoot it with the nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 vr ii lens. Not your everyday photo lens. I had to save up for a while to buy that baby, but for photographers....its what dreams are made of! HAHA!

Cool pics, I got my camera out over the weekend and found the batteries corroded in the Nikon SB-900 external flash. It's now out of warranty 3 years old so I'm sending it to the Nikon repair shop to see what they can do. Hopefully I don't have to buy a new one. Great pics, keep up the nice work.

Great photos and how about them stripers? You never know when they will be in there feeding or how long it will last.

Yikes!! That's no good! I have the SB-910 Nikon flash. Still learning how to use it yet! Hope they can fix yours for cheap!

We were actually trying some new waters. Saw some dandys cruising the shoreline, but only caught one pup.

Great pictures MNfisher! Try going below Cheatam Dam if they are generating. The topwater bite is excellent the first 45 minutes of daylight. Need to be there 30 minutes before sunrise. That is when it starts and ends pretty quick. Need at least 1 generator running.

I really like these types of pics and I remember not too long ago you had some great ones of fish as well. I'm going to try to see if I can get some shots like that with my camera one of these days. I've never taken it out fishing though; I usually take my Canon PowerShot SX200IS because if I dropped that into the drink, I wouldn't cry as bad as if I were to drop my Rebel XT LOL.

MNfisher 07-16-2012 08:14 PM

Yeah, if I dropped my Nikon in the drink I would cry!! And also would have to explain it to my wife!!......but I love taking fishing action shots! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

MNFisher, I loved the pics. I have a question about the popper. Does it float at rest or sink? I have one the smallmouth love in the fall. I can't remember the name of it. Mine sinks at rest. The smallmouth have hammered it in the fall and stripers too. I want to buy some more but I don't want the floater. Thanks in advance
