The Stripers were not around today..except one. He has my last 1/8 ounce Double Cross Jig and 150 yards of 6# test fluorocarbon and is headed toward Kentucky...he was a big boy. I caught about 70 White Bass..all about the same size as the one in the pic. That box is 11 inches long. I had that fluorocarbon on that reel for 3 years...it is expensive but I should have changed it a long time ago. I think it was just too much Sun for the Stripers today....no Bluegill either. Ordered me two new reels today though...both the new Pflueger Supreme XT....one a 25 series and the other a 30 series. Catching those things are a lot of fun but I am thinking of going back to Nickajack to get some more Spots....maybe Saturday. Tomorrow get a new shipment of Trout Magnets and Crappie Magnets plus a new Slider EGO net.....48 inches but extends to 100 inches. Tired of having to untangle hooks from the net all the time.

What color and size Magnets are you using for the white bass ? I'm convinced and gonna give 'em a shot.

I am using the Crappie Magnets for the White Bass and Striper. The Crappie Magnet works with any jig head but I really like the Crappie Magnet Double Cross Jig Head. Right now they are hitting a color called "Killer Klatt". It is kind of a ghost blue color. The Crappie Magnet is the same size as the millions of minnows below the dam now at Pickwick. I use the black jig head as these minnows have a black spot on them toward their gills. I am using the 1/8 ounce and letting it drift to them...I feel something and set the hook. I will go with a 1/32 if the water is right. I just think the slower the fall the more fish will hit it....IMHO. If the current is so strong that you need a 1/4 or bigger Crappie Magnet does not make any jig heads bigger than 1/8...but the body will work on any jig head. I used my last Killer Klatt yesterday and switched to the Salt and Pepper and it worked but the hit rate went down some....am always amazed about color selection in any lure. The Crappie Magnet is a very versatile lure. It does not look like much but something about the size and that split tail. This is the 3rd generation of Crappie Magnet since I started fishing them. They are made in the USA and I am pretty sure the field testing for that lure is done by some Crappie Guru on Percy Priest. While I fish for a lot of specie with the Crappie Magnet it is deadly on Crappie...which I am trying to rush into my hole. Maybe this rain will cool the water some more. By the way as of last night they did not have Killer Klatt on the website due to an over sight. If you place an order through them and want Killer Klatt you need to call. They are very fast about shipping.

I was surprised to find Trout and Crappie Magnets in Nashville's Bass Pro Shop in the Fly Fishing and Crappie shop. Probably not all products that the web site has.

Interesting. I wondered if they had them.

All orders ship for $5.95 from the website. I would spend that in gas getting down there then back to Bass Pro and had rather just order online giving Jeff's people the gas money.

I have some of TM's SOS line and it is almost memory free. It comes off the spool really nice onto the reel and casts a mile in 2lb test.

Thanks for all the good reports, Alphahawk. Got me wanting to ride down there one day.

TM has a great relationship with Bass Pro and I don't know why the Nashville store does not carry a bigger supply....the Memphis store has quite a good stock. I don't have all the colors TM sells but I have quite a few. As I am sure you know each body of water is different on which colors perform better. At Pickwick for some reason the Crappie eat up Midnight Blue. But if you order from Trout Magnet you will probably have them in a few days.

SOS line is good line. I was shocked when Jeff started selling bulk spools of 20,000 yards for 59 bucks. I thought that must have been a misprint...LOL. That is quite a bargain . Jeff taught me a lot about line and line manufacturers. He explained to me that all fluorocarbon lines not equal. Fluorocarbon line all has a refractive index....in other words some fluorocarbon reflects less light than others. We don't get to know about refractive index but the buyers know. I just thought that interesting.
