Shad on Old Hickory

Hi all,

I haven't been fishing in almost a month and may have a chance to go this weekend. I am trying to figure out where to go.

Has anyone been seeing big schools of shad on Old Hickory? Any white bass in the jumps? I am just looking for some fun fishing as I may be taking a beginning fisherman along.

Thanks in advance for the info,
Jim

Yes. Was in the shad on Sunday AM during the light rain and white bass were all around me boiling on them. I was on the west side of cages bend on a 5' - 8' depth flat within about 30 yards of the river channel ledge (was shaky head fishing the ledge for a few chunky LM's) and the white bass were roaming that flat on the shallow side. I suspect you can find them anywhere near that sort of feature, mouth of Station Camp might be a good place now.

Thanks Buccaneer!

That is just what I was looking for. I know the area well and have been on the white bass bite in that area in past years. Hopefully, they are biting if I get out there soon.
