Old Hickory Lake fishing report 7/1/2015 big fish
2 Attachment(s)
Mr. ED and I went back out early this morning to get some fishing in before the rain. I was using a slider jig on 10lb braid and fishing in 4' water catching small bass when I thought I had hung the bottom then it moved. At first I thought it was a BIG turtle then it rolled over and I seen it was a real big fish. Mr. ED netted the fish but couldn't pick it up, then I tried and just did get it over the side of the boat and it was a big carpsucker or a buffalo carp that was 27.59 pounds caught on a little slider jig. So till the next time good luck and GOD BLESS........Woody

That's nuts! Congrats on that catch. Years ago I was fishing with Merv below the dam for Rockfish and I somehow snagged one of those on its pectoral fin. It wasn't as big as yours but still pretty big and I was sure I had my first big Rockfish. I was so disappointed several minutes later when I got to see what it was.

Woody, you da man.
Jimmy has a good recipe for those. I am sure he will give it upon request. |
Nail to pine board...bake at 400 degrees for 5 hours...throw away carp and eat board

That thang is a monster.
The say they have nice white meat if you drain the blood but full of bones I had Laotians that worked for me and they loved the fish. |
