I fell into a GREAT deal on a this unit but I do not have the proper Humminbird right now to connect to it.. Does anyone know if I will be able to use this as if it were a regular ipilot until I can get the better unit to run the Link?

As long as you have the hand held remote and/or the foot pedal you should be good to go.

You don't have to have any FF connected to an IP for it to work, just need a remote to activate/control most of the features, the foot pedal will activate a few.
