Lock down. Launch and park at Rockland.

Thanks for the info. I have locked thru small dams but never a big river dam. Should be fun !!! Do you know what kind of water depths I can expect below the dam? Asking to get an idea how heavy of jigs I need to bring. THX Again

Shouldn't the weight be determined by the amount of water being released?

Yes and depth. Deeper and faster the heavier I'll fish anywhere from 1/8 to 1-1/4 jigs

Well no fishing this year unless I go by myself. 14 day quarantine.

Launching

I launch at the lock side ramp. I have never had an issue.
Depending upon the water level it has challenges but good. No dock. Just a ramp and sand back.

Again, never had an issue but it is a long ramp. At midnight in the fog she is challenging.

Be well and keep those drags screaming.

It's long and narrow, but doable. Shoot a report if you go.

You can lock or just use the ramp in Old Hickory below the dam. When water is low it has 8" gaps in the concrete so be in a large wheeled vehicle.

Also push the boat out as far as rope will allow because if water is dropping you will return to boat on dry land somedays.

The other options are Peeler park at Neely's Bend in Madison or Heartland Ramp on the Stones in Donelson. Both are a few miles from the dam.

Some info:
· Left Bank Recreation Area (1250 Cinder Rd., Old Hickory, TN 37138)

· E.N. Peeler Park (2043 Neeley's Bend Rd., Madison, TN 37115)

· Stones River Access (3135 Heartland Drive, Nashville, TN 37214)

· Lock 2 Park (2650 Lock 2 Rd., Nashville, TN 37214)

I like stones river access myself. The current isn’t so bad there and it’s usually not a busy ramp

Thanks Everyone, I'll give you a report if I can get time to fish. In quarantine now. 7 more days and I hope I don't have the covid.

If you don’t have symptoms by now you’re probably in the clear. I had it a few weeks ago and it was like the flu. Well, drs said I was covid positive 🤷🏻*♂️

I took the covid test and it was negative. Finished the quarantine period. I am feeling good and hope to get out soon. I am getting caught up on a few chores here and then to load the boat. Still haven't decided where to launch from. Are there any restricted areas below the Old Hickory Dam? I saw a post on FB about paddlefish. I think they were fishing from shore. It was said they couldn't fish within 100 yards of the dam. Is that true fishing from a boat?
Looks like a lot of rain headed this direction.
