Stripers & Largemouth inside Barton's Creek
Had a great day just inside Barton's Creek yesterday. Drove by there looking for anything in the mouth, only a few catfish there. We decided to try a pattern that's been working down river from Avondale to the Dam... We spotted some nice bluff walls, some in the shade. We parked in 17' and threw to the bluff wall and walked it down the steps. Pulled some nice LM out of the steps with Zoom Green Pumpkin Shakey Head Worms & Green Pumpkin Ned Rigs. There was one bluff I scoped out that looked like a good place for Stripers. Already had a few shad in the live well so about 7PM or so, they turned on the current and I spotted a couple on the Sonar. Striper were in about 14-17' of water tight to the bluff. Had three short bites before one committed. It got dark and we drove back to Cairo.
BTW, the wife is still looking for a Buzzbait bite. Haven't found them in the grass yet. Searching but not Finding! https://i.imgur.com/Qbfd1M4.jpg |
Nice pictures and fish! Looks like summertime pattern is here.
I have been scoping out boats so you may have some competition soon ;) Jim |

No need for your help anymore since I paid some Russians to hack into the Lowrance network on your boat....
