Recommendations for Older Outboard Repair Shops

I've got 2 older outboards (1947 Sea King ~5Hp, 1970 Johnson - 4Hp) both of which are still capable of working but need some wrench love. One needs a carb cleanup & tuning. The other has sat in a garage in Florida for 15 years but ran great when she was put away.

Does anyone have a recommendation on someone within 50 miles of the Nashville area that is competent, reasonably priced and does outboard work full time?

Thanks

You came to the right place

When TnCreekMaster said he runs the site he means THIS site!!!

Mr. Walker loves those older motors and has a shop rebuilding them as
a job and Hobby!!!

You got lucky!

I personally haven't had any work done by tk but the work I've seen on here done by him is top notch.

Step foot in his shop and you will quickly realize that he takes pride in his work.

I can attest to his work. Had an old 15hp worked on by TK. If he isnt happy with it, he will not put it back in your hands. He had my motor running like a top. Never took more than 3 pulls whether it was 100 degrees out or below freezing temps out.....3 pulls.
In a situation like that, its hard to put a monetary value on any mechanics work. I look at it like this....if you need it done, it costs what it costs. I dont know the first thing about outboards...old or new. So me paying what i felt a very reasonable price for parts and labor to know i have a dependable motor was priceless.
January on the river, down stream of the boat launch isnt the best time to question the reliability of your rig. Lol.
You wont be disappointed with TK's work when you get it back.
