Below Cordell Hull

They are running all generators and all gates are open. The water is muddy thick and visibility is less than 6 inches. I was up at the dam fishing for skip jack and boat control was impossible. My 80 Lb Thrust Terrova couldn't keep up. The skipjack jigs would disappear in the muddy water less than 6 inches below the surface of the water.

I managed to catch some shad on the lock side of the dam in calm water.

Also managed this huge buffalo (I think?) in my cast net by the lock wall.

Looking forward to some breaks in the rain and flow of water. I've not seen it that muddy ever.

It's a buffalo

Looks like a buffalo to me.

Definitely a buffalo. Those are some of the strongest fish I've ever seen. I used to work for a commercial fisherman when I was in college. We would run gill nets on Old Hickory and buffalo were one of our target species. Pulling those dang nets is probably why I've got a bad back to this day.
