Smallmouth Fishing **Need Info

Hello everyone.

Here's the deal.

I would LOVE to find a great stream to wade that is shallow enough for me to walk and cover some ground. Main species I would prefer to catch is smallmouth bass.

I live in Nashville and hear the Harpeth is great as well as Caney Fork.

Does anyone know of some good access points for me to park my car (without getting broken into) and go catch some smallies? I'm okay with driving a couple hours to get there.

Hope to hear from some of you! Thanks

Harpeth, mill creek, Caney (need waders or think skin), upper forks stones river and just about any creek in middle TN will have smallmouth in them somewhere, I suggest getting to love Google maps is the best way to find new places to fish or Google TN boat ramps

Smallies ... <'TK><

Toddh, Check out the Smith Fork ... Its is what you are looking for ... There are no ramps... park your car along the road adjacent to the Creek and start wading ... It is not fed by the Caney so it isn't as cold .. (Note the Smith Fork Empties into the Caney)

Just to get your feet wet, Go to mapquest, DeKalb County... (Also Lancaster, Smith County) What you are looking for is where Walker Creek empties into the Smith Fork .. Near Hwy. 141 and Old Lancaster Hwy, It runs along the Smith Fork, the intersection of 141, Old Lancaster Hwy and Temperance Valley rd would be a good place to start. Good Luck ... <'TK><:) PS ... Your best luck for smallies on the Caney is down stream closer to the Cumberland/Carthage area... Also the Smith fork is a true Creek environment Current only controlled by the weather not Generation schedules... Did I mention creek minnows? ... ;)

This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for taking the time to respond. Look forward to checking these places out. Too bad it's been so wet lately or else I would be over there this weekend. Thanks again!
